Did you know that there is not one Spirit inspired Bible truth that has not been hidden by Satan’s mystery inspired deceit?  The mystery excuse may be the greatest source of Satan’s control over the Church for the past 2,000 years.  Con artists have been using the concept of mystery from the beginning.  Mystery is about control.  Two old sailors are sitting in a bar swapping sea stories all night long to see who is best.  The one who can create the greatest mystery in his tales is the one who wins.  After all, who can challenge a mystery that is too difficult to understand, except for the one who devised the mystery in the first place?

When it comes to Bible questions, most people go to their pastor or another trusted person to ask questions about the Bible.  Today, there is anonymity in Googling questions.  The one who can answer the question with the most mystery is the one who gains control.  The Googler will often be satisfied that the question does not have a clear and complete answer.  The mystery wins again and the one who did not persevere is dragged farther away from the true.

With all the knowledge and mystery available in the cyber world, the Kingdom of YaHavah seems to be ignored.  Yet the Bible says YaHavah is the first person to ask and the first person with whom to seek counsel.  He tells us in the Bible that he is our teacher and counselor and He will direct our paths, meaning he will direct us to the right answers by His Spirit and in His inspired word.  Understanding the Bible is not difficult when you possess the spirit of His understanding.  It is part of the seven-spirit anointing of rebirth in His Spirit for entrance into the Kingdom of YaHavah.  YaHavah inspired the Scriptures and He will inspire those seeking Him through Jesus to understand them, also.  That concept is no more illogical than trusting a parent, pastor, school teacher, or college professor to teach the topics in which they are trained.  What is so difficult about trusting the one person in the entirety of creation who has all knowledge, to teach and counsel with right(eous) knowledge?  That, my friends, is the true and only mystery in YaHavah’s great creation.  Everything else is on a “need to know” basis.  When we “need to know,” there will be no mystery.  FYI, the Bible is always “need to know.”

Each true Bible doctrine is consistent with every connected doctrine throughout the Bible, whereas, lies are not.  Lies will always have one or more voids somewhere in their chain of evidence, or will carry the excuse that it is a mystery and cannot be fully understood.  I have heard the mystery excuse repeated many times about such topics as end time prophecy, the personal Hebrew name of our Creator, and the relationship between YaHavah, his Holy Spirit, and Jesus.

Be responsible believers in the family of YaHavah and Jesus; learn how you can be spiritually and intellectually proactive in the preservation of YaHavah’s truth within the Church Body and the world.  Go into your prayer closet and ask YaHavah to guide you to others who follow His guidelines and truth.

Peace and YaHavah’s love and wisdom to you and your loved ones.

The Time is Short: Understanding End Time Prophecy

Announcing a new publication: “The Time is Short: Understanding End Time Prophecy” is about balance between what the Bible teaches and living the Christian life; I call it Smartlife.  Have this book handy on your smartphone to build your Smartlife by helping others to understand end time prophecy by the Bible.

Looking for a reliable timeline based on Bible standards?  The Bible does have a timeline, but not the one most prophecy teachers are using.  Most are based on the seven seals of the scroll in Revelation.  Sadly, that time line is “a little truth mixed with a lot of opinion” and that is why there are so many different ones.  The real timeline, with dependable Bible standards, is in the Book of Daniel, within God’s calendar of seventy sevens.  God’s calendar follows all of the Bible’s prophecy parameters and standards, including those within the scroll with seven seals.  Now you can be ready to answer tough end time questions, but most of all, you can be ready for Jesus when he comes back.  Don’t be left behind because you followed doctrines that are not in full alignment with the Bible.

Start building your Smartlife by sharing this blog.

May the Lord bless and keep you and your loved ones.

Trailing Jesus’ Purpose Through the Word, Begotten

Today’s blog is on John 1:29-34 .

This tidbit of Bible knowledge about Jesus begins with the word, begotten.  I’ve heard many discussions on that word, but none could come to one definitive conclusion.  This dictionary definition seems to clarify the issue.

Begotten: v.t. ‌ ‌be-got, be-got-ten‌ ‌be-got, be-get-ting.‌   1. ‌ (esp. of a male parent) to generate (offspring). (Random House Kernerman Webster’s College Dictionary, © 2010 K Dictionaries Ltd. Copyright 2005, 1997, 1991 by Random House, Inc.)

Begotten was typically used by a male parent.  This Middle English word speaks volumes for the truth about Jesus being human and sinless.  Only human fathers passed Adam’s sin to their offspring.  This is also in line with male genealogies in the Bible.  Adam’s sin was not passed on to Jesus, because his father was the one who created Adam who brought sin into the world.  His human mother could not pass Adam’s sin on to her son.  Jesus has two genealogies in the Bible that show his birthright to the throne of David, because Joseph and Mary were both of the tribe of Judah in direct line to David through the branches of his sons, Solomon and Nathan.  Joseph descended through Solomon and Mary descended through Nathan.  Jesus’ genealogy through his mother is through her father back to Adam.  However, Jesus’ father created Adam, so his personal genealogy is the shortest in the history of humankind, YaHavah to Jesus.

So, you see, begotten really does say a lot about Jesus’ birth and there is much more said throughout the Bible.  Begotten of YaHavah circumvented the sin issue, now let’s look at how that affects humankind.

(John 1:29-34, Word of YHVH Bible (WYB )  29The next day John saw Jesus coming to him, and said, Behold the Lamb of YHVH, which takes away the sin of the world.  30This is he of whom I said, After me comes a man which is preferred before me: for he was before me.  31And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water.

32And John bare record, saying, I saw [YHVH’s] Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him.   33And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said to me, “upon whom you shall see My Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizes with [My] Holy Spirit.”  34And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of YHVH

Even though Jesus and John the Baptist were cousins in the tribes of Judah and Levi and their mothers were well known to each other, as reported by Luke, John is reported here as saying, “I knew him not” and “he was before me.”

Luke reported the birth of both John and Jesus and John was born three months before Jesus, so, how could Jesus be before John?

John learned the scriptures through his father, who was a Levite priest.  He knew the prophecies of the coming Messiah and that he himself was called to witness and acknowledge the Messiah as the Lamb of YaHavah.  John knew Jesus was in YaHavah’s plan from the beginning of creation; therefore, being in YaHavah’s pre-creation plan, the son of YHVH was before him, even before John and Jesus were born.  They each had a purpose in YaHavah’s plan to destroy the sin of Adam in the world and the instigator of that sin, Satan.

John was called to baptize (human flesh) in water and witness the entrance of Messiah who would baptize (human spirit) in the Spirit of YaHavah.   The baptism of John is the washing in water to repentance.  (Matthew 3:11; Acts 13:24; Luke 20:1-8; Acts 19:1-5; Acts 20:22-26) Spirit baptism through Jesus is to salvation.  Together, they wash both the outside and inside, the flesh and the spirit.  Flesh is flesh and spirit is spirit.

(John 3:5-8, WYB)  5Jesus answered, In truth, I say to you, Except a man be born of water, even Yah’s Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of YHVH.   6That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of (YHVH’s) Spirit is spirit.  7Marvel not that I said to you, You must be born again.  8The wind blows where it will, and you hear the sound thereof, but cannot tell from where it comes, and where it goes: so is every one that is born of (YHVH’s) Spirit.

Jesus’ intent in verse 5 was to show that the (Living) Water of YaHavah’s Spirit and the (Living) Water of His Word washes (baptizes) the human spirit.

The sign for the entrance of Messiah was the descending dove onto the shoulder of Jesus and the confirming voice of his Father from heaven.  The dove represented the prophesied anointing of the Holy One in the Spirit of YaHavah. (Isaiah 11:1-5; Daniel 9:24) The Hebrew Messiah and the Greek Christos mean, anointed in the Spirit of YaHavah.  To full-fledged believers of Jesus, the same anointing is for the spirit to be born again to become Christians (anointed ones) whose new home is in the Kingdom of Heaven.  They live in the world but not of the world.

In answer to some criticisms, I realize that my writing style is definitive and often sounds absolute, leaving my readers seemingly with no response.  This is a trait that often offends others. However, when writing about the Bible one should clearly define the truth of the Bible.  It is a book of awareness and answers, not questions and wavering notions of what someone thinks it says.  YaHavah is the teacher of all who are reborn by His Spirit.  That is a joy to my heart that makes me want to shout the truth from roof-tops (or worldwide by the internet).  I am not ashamed of the truth.

Apostle John and John the Baptist reported the truth straight up and without shame.  Saying I am not ashamed of the truth is not arrogance, but humility, because the truth belongs to YaHavah and Jesus, and all who are now part of the Kingdom of YaHavah.

May the peace of YaHavah be with you all.

Why did John the Baptist say Jesus was before him, when he was born before Jesus?

John 1:29-34 — John Witnesses the Anointing of Jesus

29The next day John saw Jesus coming to him, and said, Behold the Lamb of YHVH, which takes away the sin of the world.  30This is he of whom I said, After me comes a man which is preferred before me: for he was before me.  31And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water.

32And John bare record, saying, I saw (YHVH’s) Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him.   33And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said to me, “upon whom you shall see My Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizes with [My] Holy Spirit.”  34And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of YHVH.

Even though Jesus and John were cousins in the tribes of Levi and Judah, and their mothers were well known to each other, John states, “I knew him not” and “he was before me.”  John was born three months before Jesus, so, how could Jesus be before John?  John knew the prophecies of the coming Messiah and that he himself was called to witness and acknowledge the Messiah as the Lamb of YaHavah; therefore, John knew Jesus was in the plan of YaHavah from the beginning, even before John and Jesus were born.  Other Scriptures tell us that YaHavah created the heavens and earth for Jesus.

John, who was called to baptize in water, was also called to witness the entrance of the one who would baptize in the Spirit of YaHavah.  The Spirit descending onto the shoulder of Jesus was the sign that Jesus was the one and only begotten Son of YaHavah.

I’ve heard many discussions on the word, begotten never any firm decision on what it meant.  So I looked it up on my Toshiba edition Dictionary.

Begotten is a Middle English word that speaks volumes for the truth about Jesus being born sinless.  Begotten was typically used by a male parent.  This is in line with the passing of Adam’s sin only by human fathers and genealogies recorded through the males.  Adam’s sin was not passed on the Jesus because his father was the one who created Adam.  Jesus’ genealogy, though listed in the Bible through Mary’s father back to Adam, is the shortest genealogy ever listed.  It goes from father to son; YaHavah to Jesus.  There are no father to son generations between them.

So, you see, begotten really does say a lot about Jesus’ birth and there is much more said throughout the Bible.

Christian Living in Psalms and Proverbs

The Spirit sidetracked me from working on my New Testament Study/Commentary series to do a book on the Psalms and Proverbs.  When I indexed the chapter topics, I realized why YaHavah directed me to add these headings to the Word of YHVH Bible (WYB). (WYB) revisions will be published November 2017)  This blog is to share the amazing realization of what those headings mean in the knowledge of YaHavah and Jesus.   I hope it will be helpful to my readers in their daily contemplations on the wonders of YaHavah and Jesus.

Much of what David wrote in the Psalms is about his afflictions by oppressors, seen and unseen.  There are sixty-six books in the Judeo/Christian Bible.  Thirty-nine of those books are Old Testament with a constant call to turn to YaHavah as opposed to the evil brought into this world by Lucifer, aka, Satan.  The twenty-seven books of the New Testament continue that call through the Son of YaHavah, Jesus, in preparation for the final destruction of Satan, his evil, and all who do not listen to and love YaHavah.  Long story made short, the Bible is the testimony of YaHavah’s great love for his creation; but, also of the great war between YaHavah and Satan that began with Satan’s rebellion in heaven before the creation of the heavens and earth we know.  The effects of that war are written from the heart of David, Solomon, and other authors in the Psalms, Proverbs, and throughout the Bible to teach all people to give glory to YaHavah for the peace he offers through his son, Jesus Christ.

In my opinion, Psalms and Proverbs should be among the first books used in teaching new Bible students about YHVH (YaHavah).  Unfortunately, they are not.  These books are usually relegated to the classification of “boring” along with genealogies and the repetition of Israel’s history.  Every time I think how boring something is, the Spirit of YaHavah gives me a book or article project to teach me his purpose in it.  They are lessons on how He instills His life in a world filled with the death of Satan’s oppressive evil.  Learning how to read the Psalms and Proverbs, and apply their teaching to everyday life is just as important as learning what Jesus taught, because the sentiments of these books are the core of what he taught.

Evil shows its face in the oppressors who are against YaHavah’s righteous line from Seth (third son of Adam) to Jesus (first and only son of YaHavah), and thereafter to the end.  In his Psalms, David, the righteous king of Judah, expresses the anguish caused by oppression from other humans and the whispering enchantments of fallen angels.  It surrounded him constantly.  Even so, he expresses his love and trust in YaHavah throughout his reign as king and in his writings.

Today the oppressors have different faces, but inflict the same anguish David felt, which is why the Psalms are useful to every generation.  I wish a list like this had been available to me in my first years in Christianity.

The following is a sampling of an index of chapter headings in affirmation of the usefulness of Psalms and Proverbs in learning more about YaHavah (YHVH) and Jesus.

Psalm 1 — Walk in YHVH’s Counsel
Psalm 2 — Prophecy of the Birth of the Son of YHVH, JESUS
Psalm 3 — YHVH is My Shield
Psalm 4 — Put Your Trust in YHVH

Psalm 8 — YHVH, Your Name is Excellent in all the Earth
Psalm 9 — YHVH is My Refuge
Psalm 10 — YHVH Prepares the Humble Heart

Psalm 13 — YHVH is Light and Life
Psalm 14 — Only Fools Say There is no Elohim (God)

Psalm 21 — Trust in YHVH Always
Psalm 22 — Declaration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ
Psalm 23 — YHVH is My Shepherd, I Shall Not Want
Psalm 24 — The Way of Revival

Proverbs is among the books of wisdom for its teaching on moral and ethical principles.  It is, also, an excellent source for learning about the seven spirits of YHVH and how to recognize and avoid their opposite spirits of sin.

The student of the Proverbs can learn what YaHavah’s Spirit reveals about the Christian walk and learn what YHVH wants each believer to know about himself and the believer’s relationship with Himself and Jesus.

Proverbs 8 is an excellent lesson on the work and value of the seven spirits of YHVH, such as how YHVH uses these seven spirits to instill and teach his wisdom and righteousness to faithful believers

The Foundation

Continuing John’s Gospel Study Notes. . .

1:1-5 (WYB) — John Gives Glory to YHVH

1—In the beginning was the word, and the word was in YHVH Elohim, and the word was YHVH.  2—His word was in the beginning in YHVH.  3—All things were made by (reason of) YHVH and without YHVH was not anything made that was made.  4—In YHVH is his Spirit; and his Spirit is the light of men.  5—And the light (of his Spirit) shines in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

Now we can get into the meat of John 1:1-5 and why these five verses are about YHVH and no one else.  In Matthew Chapter 2, we learned how the pagan sun-god, Mithra, infiltrated Christian doctrine by the Trinity Tradition. Because 1:1-5 is a designated key proof-text for the Trinity doctrine, we must determine if anything was altered to make it so.  (Proof-texts using the capitalized Word: John 1:1, 14, 1John 5:7; Revelation 19:13.  These, too, were researched thoroughly and corrected in the Word of YHVH Bible.)

Compare the wording of the above corrected verses with the King James Version (KJV) below.  Glory is given to Jesus as Creator and giver of light. (Shades of Mithra)

John 1:1-5 (KJV) — In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  The same was in the beginning with God.  All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made.  In him was life; and the life was the light of men.  And the light shines in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

The King James Version of this passage appears to say that Jesus is YaHavah and the Creator of all.  This is in contradiction to the Old Testament prophecies of the Son of YaHavah.  YaHavah cannot be his own son, neither can Jesus be his Father.  They are two separate persons.  Even the Trinity doctrine agrees: Father is not Son, and Son is not Father.  The concept of turning father and son into one person is willful sin against our Creator, YaHavah.  Dividing one person into two persons, as done with Father and his own Spirit, is also willful sin against YaHavah.

Figure 1 Trinitarian Formula

Another problem is that most interpreters believe John’s opening verses of his Gospel refer to Jesus as the Logos (Word).  The inference is made by the capitalization of (Word).

Anytime a Bible student wants to understand the meaning and reasoning behind the writer’s words, he or she must research how certain words and inferences are used throughout the Bible and in the original language.  This must be done to circumvent possible translation and/or expositor errors.  My own research was done to understand why Church doctrine attributes the Greek word, Logos, to Jesus in these verses.  If there is an error and not understood as an error, it will not be corrected in other Scriptures and Church creeds.

There are two doctrinal errors in verses one and two attached to the KJV:
1) understanding the meaning of Logos, and
2) understanding who God (Greek, Theos) is in these two verses and elsewhere in the New Testament (NT).

Strong’s Bible Dictionary states that Logos means, something said (Including the thought); by implication a topic (subject of discourse), also reasoning (the mental faculty) or motive; by extension a computation;

Strong apparently was a Trinitarian, because his computation included this: specifically (with the article in John) the Divine Expression (that is, Christ).  Divine expression is YaHavah’s spoken words, or thoughts, or His reasoning.  Logos is never used as a name anywhere in the Bible (NT) except as an addition for “proof text” by Trinitarians.

The Greek language is not as precise concerning YHVH and Jesus as thought by many.  For example: In Luke 4:12 (WYB), Jesus quoted Deuteronomy 6:16 when he answered the devil’s third temptation.

12And Jesus answering, said to him, It is said, You shall not tempt YHVH your Elohim.”

In the KJV, YHVH and Elohim are turned around to the Lord your God (in Greek, kurios your Theos).

In Luke’s Gospel, Jesus quoted the original Hebrew.  In the Greek, kurios is an epithet meaning supremacy and used as a title of respect, such as Mr., lord, master, or sir.  Strong’s Bible Dictionary includes the word God in his definition of kurios; however, God is a substitute for the Hebrew, Elohim and the Greek, Theos.  Elohim is an epithet of respect.  Theos is the Greek substitute for YHVH.  Kurios is also an epithet of respect.  Mixed intent can only lead to confusion of whom the word, God, is referring.

Translations and substitutes tend to lose the original meaning or intent.  That is why researching whole Bible context is so important.  Suffice it to say that neither Jesus nor his disciples ever referred to Jesus as Elohim or another god, even though he was respectfully referred to by the epithet, kurios, translated to master or lord.  Both, YaHavah and Jesus were respectfully referred to in Greek by the epithet, kurios, but with entirely different intent of meaning, yet full of respect.

Jesus is never referred to as Theos in the Greek language; therefore, Theos should have been translated to YHVH to avoid mixed usage of the ambiguous word, God.  Theos refers to YHVH, except when the context is of idols.  The same is true of the Hebrew epithet, Elohim.

Verse two states the same as verse one, yet with more clarity.

Verse three tells us that YHVH is the Creator of all things by his own plan.

Verse four tells us two things; the Holy Spirit is the person of YHVH and His Spirit anoints those who love and believe in him.

Verse five explains that some will remain in darkness because they will not believe.

These five verses are consistent with other Scriptures that say essentially the same thing.

To be continued..

JOHN’S Gospel Study Notes

four living creatures table

Jesus-eagleFigure 9   Redemption on the Wings of an Eagle

Each of the four Gospels bear the semblance of what each of the four faces of Ezekiel’s Four Living Creatures stand for.š

John was the favored apostle.  His are the footsteps to step into on the way to the Great White Throne of Judgment.  I didn’t say Jesus’ footsteps because he didn’t have the disadvantage that every other human has.  Jesus was not born with the stigma of Adam’s sin imprinted on his soul.  Jesus is our perfect example in some extremely important ways, but John is our brother in the tribulation of Adam’s sin.  He is the example to follow in agape love for Father and Son, listening to the Spirit of YaHavah, and obedience in doing as he was instructed by Jesus and the Spirit of YaHavah.

John provides more in-depth knowledge of YaHavah and Jesus than any other writer of the New Testament (NT).  Throughout John’s writings, he makes six things very clear about YHVH.  These six are the raw colors on the artist’s palette from which John mixed and made his strokes.

John wants to make six things very clear about YHVH:

  1. YHVH Elohim is our one and only Creator (Gen. 1-1-5; Jn. 1:1-5)
  2. YHVH is Spirit (Gen. 1:2, 6:3; Prov. 1:23; Jn. 1:4)
  3. YHVH’s Spirit is the true light (Jn. 1:4)
  4. Everything was created according to YHVH’s plan and reasoning (Is. 14:24; Rom. 11:33-36))
  5. YHVH spoke and Jesus was conceived, YHVH’s word spoke a sin-free sperm into existence to conceive His only begotten son of YHVH (Jn. 1:14)
  6. Jesus was anointed in the Spirit of YHVH to be witness of same. (See the list of references for the anointing at the end of this introduction)

Item three succinctly states the spoken words of YHVH in the conception, naming, and birth of Jesus.  There are more references to other conditions of Jesus’ conception and birth; such as is found in the full explanation in the introduction to the Book of Luke in the Word of YHVH Bible and in the Gospel of Luke Study/Commentary in this series.

Item five is relative to the creation of humanity.  There were three unique phases of human creation that will never to be repeated again: from dust, from bone, and a father’s sperm that does not carry the sin of Adam:

  • Adam was created from the elements of the earth (Gen. 1:26-31, 2:6-9)
  • Eve was created from a rib of Adam (Gen. 2:21-25)
  • Jesus was conceived without benefit of a human father in the womb of his virgin mother. YHVH created the human sperm that conceived his son.  No coital intercourse was necessary.  (Matt. 1:18-25; Luke 1:26-38)

Jesus is human just like every other human with one exception, his father is sinless, which is why Jesus was born a sinless human.  There was never any need for Jesus to be a god to be sinless.  Neither was there any need for Jesus to be a god for YaHavah to work through him to perform miracles and every astonishing thing he did and said.

The theme of John’s Gospel is associated with the face of an eagle of the Four Living Creatures.  The word eagle is used twenty-five times in the Bible, both as a protector or comforter of YHVH’s people and as captors of the disobedient.   The face of an eagle represents redemption and the reason for the need of redemption.

Apostle John carried the theme of redemption from Exodus 19 into his Gospel and into the Book of Revelation.

(Exodus 19:3-4)   3And Moses went up to Elohim, and YHVH called to him out of the mountain, saying, Thus you shall say to the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel; 4You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and [how] I bare you on eagles wings, and brought you to myself.

John Creates an image of Jesus

  1. Jesus is the means of the Light of YHVH entering the soul to give him or her a new life. (Jn. 1:9-13)
  2. YHVH spoke into being the human nature of his son full of grace and truth.
  3. Jesus brought grace and truth to the world. (Jn.1:14, 17)
  4. Jesus declared YHVH to the world (Jn. 1:18)
  5. Jesus is the Redeemer according to the Law. (Jn. 1:27; Ruth 4:7)
  6. Jesus is the Lamb of YHVH. (Jn. 1:29)

Most interpreters believe John’s opening verses of his Gospel refer to Jesus as the Logos (Word). The Greek word, Logos, is translated to Word (capitalized) to infer that it means Jesus.

In Strong’s Bible Dictionary, the Greek word Logos (G3056) means “something said (including the thought); by implication a topic (subject of discourse), also reasoning (the mental faculty) or motive; by extension a computation.

Logos is never used to mean a person, except by human error and misinterpretation.

John paints a portrait of Jesus from a palette of colors found only in Heaven, to demonstrate his love, listening, and obedience to YaHavah.  Like all great artists, he begins his painting by conditioning his canvas with the pure white of the light of YaHavah’s glory. (Jn.1:1-5)

Matthew 2:1-3—Who Were the Wise Men?

My New Testament Bible Study/Commentary continues, but only in selected sections.  I think this one is important to all Christians.

2:1-3—Who are the Wise Men?

1Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, 2Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Judeans?  For we have seen his star in the east, and have come to worship him.

3When Herod the king had heard [these things], he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.

Mithra and Persia

Figure 2 Ancient Persian Empire
by US Military Academy, published 04262012

The Wise Men came from the East, which identifies them as the Magi of the ancient Eastern Zoroastrian religion centered in Persia.  Zoroastrianism began as monotheistic, believing in one God, Ahura-Mazda, who was believed to be the father of the sun-god, Mithra.  Hmm, isn’t that two gods?

Ahura Mazda (Modern Persian: (/əˌhʊrəˌmæzdə/;) (also known as Ohrmazd, Ahuramazda, Hourmazd, Hormazd, Harzoo and Hurmuz, Lord or simply as spirit) is the Avestan name for the creator and sole God of Zoroastrianism, the old Mede and Persian religion which spread across Asia predating Christianity. (Wikipedia – Ahura Mazda)

People generally think that if something happened before Jesus’ birth and ministry, it predates Christianity.  However, the Bible is very clear that YaHavah created the heavens and earth for Jesus.  Jesus was in YaHavah’s plan of salvation and destruction of sin.  Even sin predated creation, because it was Lucifer, aka, Satan, who first rebelled against YaHavah, then enticed Adam to sin, and his sin became the knowledge of good and evil that is passed on through every father.

(Romans 3:23) 23for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of YHVH;

Most religions from Adam’s first son, Cain, and beyond the Great Flood, were polytheist; believing in one main god with many supporting gods to care for every need.  They were false gods displayed as idols made of stone, metal, or wood.  If they were real living gods, they would likely outnumber the angels of heaven.

Monotheism is the worship of one god for everything, yet, adding another god for any reason under any special title, changes the belief system to polytheism, or “monotheism” in denial.

In contrast, throughout the Judeo/Christian Old Testament, one El (God) Almighty is shown to be the creator of all, who cares for every need, even the ones you don’t know about.  He is, in transliterated Hebrew, YHVH Elohim, the same Elohim who created the first human, Adam.  Adam’s third son, Seth was the beginning of the righteous line who obeyed and worshipped YaHavah, (Genesis 4:25-26) before and beyond the Great Flood, to the Son of YaHavah in the first century AD.  Christianity is the continuance of the righteous line by the gift of regeneration and remission of sin through YaHavah’s Son, Jesus. More later.

Franz Cumont, an archaeologist with a focus on religious research, traveled throughout the Middle East and Europe in the late 19th century in search of whatever remained of the Mithraic religion through the study of ancient bas-reliefs, statuary, altars, and writings.  His years of travel and research culminated in his book, “The Mysteries of Mithra,” (French publication,1903).  In the early 1990’s, I found a 1956 English edition by Dover Publications in the Public Library in San Diego, CA., while I was researching the effects of other gods on the first century Christians in Asia-Minor.  Cumont’s purpose was to show how and why this Mazdean sect failed to become the dominant religion of the Roman empire.  It may not have been his intention, but his research also shows how the Mazdean Mithraic religion made a lasting imprint on many Christians and Jews of the second and third century.  That imprint still exists like a dinosaur print in ancient rock.  More later.

We are concerned here with one epoch only of this decisive revolution, it being our purpose to show with all the distinctness in our power how and why a certain Mazdean sect failed under the Caesars to become the dominant religion of the empire. (Preface page 1, Mysteries of Mithra, by Franz Cumont, copyright 1903)

Actually, in the third century, Constantine the Great (272 AD – 326 AD), Emperor of Rome, was believed to have been a true Christian but managed to transition Mithraism into Christianity through the Roman Catholic Church.

In 321, he legislated that the venerable day of the sun should be a day of rest for all citizens. . .  Furthermore, Constantine’s coinage continued to carry the symbols of the sun. After the pagan gods had disappeared from his coinage, Christian symbols appeared as Constantine’s attributes: the chi rho between his hands or on his labarum, as well on the coin itself. . . in 325 he summoned the Council of Nicaea, effectively the first Ecumenical Council (unless the Council of Jerusalem is so classified), most known for its dealing with Arianism and for instituting the Nicene Creed. (

The Nicene Creed was initially convened to settle the dispute between Arius and the Church concerning the deity of Jesus.  The Church determined that Jesus was an incarnate God, that the Father is God, and that the Holy Spirit is God.  Modern creeds define these as three Gods in one, or the Trinity under one Godhead, just like Mithraism.  Schools of Theology teach that the Trinity is the foundation of the Church.  The Trinity doctrine is “Monotheism” in denial.

Mithra is just one of many attempts of Satan to alter our understanding of YaHavah, Jesus, and Jesus’ purpose.  Before any of man’s mythic gods, there was YaHavah.  Satan has always been aware of YaHavah’s plan of salvation through His son, Jesus.  From the Garden of Eden to the end, he has and will continue to pervert the truth of Jesus’ first and second coming with his counterfeit gods to imitate the relationship between YaHavah and Jesus.

Figures 3 and 4 are images of Mithra idols, mythic son of Ahura-Mazda, from pages 105 and 106 of “The Mysteries of Mithra” by Cumont, Franz Valery Marie, (1868-1947). Published 1903. (From on the Mysteries of Mithra)

Before Mithra, there was Tammuz, a god dating back to Nimrod shortly after the Great Flood.  Later, the Persians (specifically, Zoroaster) in Daniel’s time believed that Ahura-Mazda was the god of the sky and the father of Mithra.  When the Greeks ruled the world, they merged the Persian Zoroastrian’s Ahura-Mazda with their own Zeus and his gods. The Greeks believed that Zeus created Mithra and established him to maintain and watch over the earth.  Then, with Roman rule, all were merged again into the Roman god Jupiter and his entourage of gods, including Mithra the sun-god.  Romans were big on beauty, so the ugly lion-headed Mithra was transformed into a handsome god. (See figure 5)

The mysteries of Mithra gained prominence in the first century throughout Asia-Minor and Rome.  Bas-reliefs now located in Germany, Rome, and Britain show either Mithra or Ahura-Mazda with great kings, such as Artaxerxes I (465 BC – 424 BC.), Antiochus I (324 BC – 262 BC), and some Caesars.  Monarchs are said to have prayed to Mithra before going to battle to insure their success.  I am relatively certain Constantine the Great did.   It is interesting that these Monarchs are also three of the four conquering beasts (Babylon, Persia, and Greece) of Daniel’s prophecies.

Roman Mithra

There are still Mithraic Tauroctonies and sacrificial altars in the lower chambers of the Vatican, recently opened for excavation by archeologists.  The same images are in many Mithraic religious centers worldwide. Mithra was widespread.

Constantine did many good works and gave liberally to the Church.  However, he also maintained his positions in paganism demonstrated by his coinage with the image of the sun, as well as the arch of Constantine in Rome decorated with pagan gods.  It is said he ruled over the Nicene Council but did not vote, yet, as Roman Emperor, he no doubt had much influence.  The Church’s acceptance of Jesus’ birthdate of December 25th is proof of that.  Constantine brought the pagan god, Mithra, into Christianity by subtly merging the similarities of Mithraism and Christianity, even though the Church is against paganism. These are observations I’ve been publishing for nearly thirty years.

Today there are many internet resources.  If research is done, beware of persons and organizations who deny biblical truths about Jesus.  Mithraic doctrine bears many biblical similarities to Christian doctrine; however, it does not void what the Bible teaches about creation, YaHavah, and Jesus.

Although five hundred years apart, both, the Roman Constantine and the Greek Antiochus IV, Epiphanes worshipped the sun-god Mithra.  Mithra’s birthday is said to be in the winter solstice.  Antiochus IV was born on December 25 in the winter solstice; therefore, he closely associated himself with Mithra to the extent of thinking himself to be the incarnation of Mithra.  He was against the Jewish faith, so defiled the Jewish altar with the sacrifice of a pig, then ordered the people to worship him and Mithra on his birthday, December 25 (in winter solstice).  Daniel Chapter Eleven describes the entrance of one like or in the line of Antiochus IV during the last seven years of Daniel’s seventy sevens prophecy.  More on that in the Revelation Study/Commentary.

Mithraism morphed from one polytheist set of gods to another in the same way gods have morphed in man’s imagination from the beginning for power, control, and help.  Satan is behind it to destroy faith in the one true creator, YaHavah.  He couldn’t keep Jesus from fulfilling YaHavah’s prophecies, so he concentrates on the destruction of faith and hope in YaHavah and Jesus by cunning distractions and pagan adaptations.

YaHavah is one living God (Elohim) who is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow, he is infinite.  His son, Jesus, was born human, yet his purpose is the same, yesterday, today, and tomorrow.  Ahura-Mazda (Jupiter, Zeus) and Mithra are Satan’s imitations; yet, we cannot call them lifeless because Satan is their life in the same way he is the life of the Trinity Doctrine, so deeply rooted, it is considered the foundation of Christianity, even though the Bible teaches that Jesus is the foundation of Christianity.

I hope this information about the amalgamation of Mithra and Christianity shines a light on hidden errors existing within Christianity for nearly 2,000 years.  Remember, just because a belief is old and established by Church Fathers, doesn’t mean it is right, with the exception of unaltered Bible truth.  The Bible in the original version is the only infallible truth.  People make mistakes.

Searching for Truth

As my readers might guess, I’m kind of hung up on Bible truth.  The more I learn about the Bible the more I see how more and more believers in Jesus Christ are getting caught in traps of deception.  I’ve seen many web sites of people thinking they are protecting the truth, when they are actually protecting their own deception while fighting other people’s deceptions.  The worst of it is that they don’t even know it or know how to test the spirit of what they are doing.

I sometimes feel like I’m beating my head against a wall in trying to get people to understand that Christianity is in deep trouble.  My Bible oriented books, blog, and website are my chosen ways of trying to turn this deadly trend around.

The following is the main content of the Home page for my website, (website no longer exists 11/8/18)

“Dear friends and family in Christ, this Bible Ministry belongs to and is administered by YaHavah and Jesus. This is YaHavah’s ministry and he is calling for other messengers — common people like myself — to be his messengers and disciples. He doesn’t need an advertising budget, he needs you.

Be Bible Literate
The Bible and Spirit of YaHavah
Teach Truth, Integrity, and Respect

“Only the Bible and Spirit are trustworthy sources of truth. The word, “God” is ambiguous. It is used to denote any kind of supposed deity. Without a personal name to specify who is being discussed in a doctrine, it is impossible to understand doctrines being taught. No doctrine containing the word, “God”, can be tested with another doctrine containing the word “God.”

“FYI…the Holy Spirit has a name; it is YHVH (YaHavah) because the Bible says YaHavah is Spirit.

  • YHVH Elohim is our one and only Creator (Gen. 1-1-5; Jn. 1:1-5)
  • YHVH is Spirit (Gen. 1:2, 6:3; Prov. 1:23; Jn. 1:4)
  • YHVH’s Spirit is the true light (Jn. 1:4)
  • Everything was created according to YHVH’s plan and reasoning (Is. 14:24; Rom. 11:33-36)
  • YHVH spoke and Jesus was conceived, YHVH’s words spoke into being the only begotten son of YHVH (Jn. 1:14)
  • Jesus was anointed in the Spirit of YHVH to be witness of same. (See the list of references for the anointing at the end of the introduction in John’s Gospel in the Word of YHVH Bible)

“The Bible is the foremost resource of doctrine by which to live, and YaHavah is the foremost teacher of Bible doctrine. A person can learn more about life from the Bible than any other book ever written or from any preacher, teacher, life coach, or psychologist, yet each of these do have their purpose.

“All Church doctrine should be perfectly aligned with the Bible. Even so, there is an abundance of error not recognized by those who err.  Christians for Life Ministries (CFLM) takes to heart the Body’s cry for YaHavah’s truth and restoration of first century Christian doctrines. Let’s strive together to bring Church doctrine back into alignment with the Bible.

YaHavah promised to be our teacher, counselor, and protector. BELIEVE IT!

“CFLM strives for “One heart and one mind for all in YaHavah and Jesus”

Pray for your heart to open to know his great love,
Pray for your mind to open to know his great wisdom.”

On the Home page, I also have a few article and page links titled:

In 2015, I asked a person I was communicating with by e-mail for a brief statement of his thoughts concerning my website, since he had visited it several times and downloaded my Bible and many of my books and articles.

E. of TX, 2015 responded:  “As far as I can remember you have not accepted the responsibility or challenge of being my spiritual teacher. This being the case, don’t ask me to ‘judge’ your beliefs. . . . Surely you know that your doctrines are unusual to say the least. I know of no group of Christians, not one, that embrace your understanding of Christianity.”

My response: More’s the pity E of TX, But thank you for your candor. You stated you were not a judge of my beliefs, yet broadly judged them to be in error on the basis of what others believe. Even so, some of what you said is true. The Bible’s image of Christianity does not agree with every aspect of the worldview of Christianity. You did exactly what I have said many times in my writings that should not be done; you tested one person’s doctrines by your own and other’s doctrines. Not once did you indicate that you used the Bible to test the spirit of what I believe and what I write. Not once did you indicate that what I say agrees or disagrees with the Bible, only with what yourself and others believe.

I look at my website Home page and, recalling our many discussions, I can see his point of view on my doctrines being different from other Christians.  They are, and for a very good reason.  What I see from the Bible’s perspective is that my observation of most Christians in person and online, don’t know what testing the spirit means.  Because of this simple Bible concept, false doctrines have crept into every aspect of  Bible truths.  The response from “E of TX” proves he and most Christians don’t understand the biblical meaning of testing the spirit.  They don’t have a clue of the Bible’s teaching on the seven spirits of YaHavah and their opposites.  Proof of this observation is in a simple Google search for “what are the seven spirits?”  There are many non-committal answers to that question. Some mention Isaiah 11:1-2, then offer alternative answers to what Isaiah’s seven spirits are. None to this date, have connected other anointing prophecies to it, nor have I ever seen any biblical explanation of the purpose for the seven spirits.

Allow me to give another example of my difference from other Christians.

The first word in Section I of my “Glossary of Common Terms,” is anointing.

The prophecies of Jesus’ anointing and the fullness of the seven-spirits of YHVH (Daniel 9:24; Isaiah 11:1-5) was fulfilled with the appearance of a descending dove of peace as the visible image of the Spirit of YHVH. (Matthew 3:16) This is the same infilling experienced by true and repentant believers. (Acts 2:1-4) The Spirit of YHVH comes to show the way into all Truth. The purpose for anointing is regeneration or rebirth in the Spirit of YHVH. (John 16:13)

Jesus is the core of YHVH’s plan of salvation, and He is, as it says in the Old Testament, YHVH with us by the anointing omnipresence of the Spirit of YHVH. YHVH with us or as commonly stated God with us was manifested at Jesus’ baptism and on the Day of Pentecost after Jesus ascended into heaven. (Revelation 5:6) All the following references explain the anointing, its purpose, and its fulfillment:

  1. Psalm 110:4—Jesus was consecrated as High Priest forever in the order of Melchizedek (Hebrew 7:20-28)
  2. Isaiah 11:1-2—The promised anointing of Jesus in the seven-spirits of YaHavah
  3. Daniel 9:24—Daniel prophesied the anointing of Jesus who YaHavah identified as the Holy one
  4. Matthew 3:16-17—Fulfillment of the anointing represented by the descending dove and voice of YHVH.
  5. John 3:5-8—Jesus told his disciples that one must be born again in the spirit to see the Kingdom of YHVH.
  6. Revelation 5:6— 6—And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the Four Living Creatures, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven-spirits of YHVH sent forth into all the earth. 7—And he came and took the book out of the right hand of him that sat upon the throne. (Acts 2:1-4; Isaiah 11:1)
  7. Acts 2:1-4— The manifestation of the Comforter by the seven spirit anointing was evidenced by a wind in the upper room and flames over the heads of the twelve disciples. One must be born again in the Spirit of YaHavah to see the Kingdom of YHVH.

Jesus repeatedly told his disciples he had to go to be glorified before the promised Spirit (Comforter) could come to them.

Jesus ascended to heaven to receive the Kingdom of YHVH and release the outpouring of the seven spirit anointing to all who accept the whole truth of Jesus Christ. The timing is the ten days between his ascension into heaven and the Day of Pentecost.

How else could the following be true:

“YaHavah created man to have fellowship with himself. Fellowship implies likeness; the Bible teaches that YaHavah created man in his likeness, a spirit being. Adam started his life having access to YaHavah’s wisdom and knowledge, which he used in naming all the plants and animals. Fellowship with YaHavah also implies his counsel and understanding. The human spirit must have YaHavah’s counsel and understanding to learn how to live by his standards. Adam lived a good life under YaHavah’s standards, until another influence tempted him and he failed to fear YaHavah. The strength to overcome Satan’s temptations is in the Spirit of YaHavah through Jesus. This paragraph demonstrates the grace of YaHavah in bestowing true believers with his seven-spirits so they can live in his righteousness and overcome the sin imposed upon humankind by Adam’s error.”

Please note that the bolded words are the seven spirits of YaHavah named in Isaiah 11:1-2, used in Proverbs 8 and used often by the Apostles in their teaching.

I attended church and church functions regularly for nearly thirty years, until I could no longer bear listening to false teaching mingled in some truth, or to be avoided for what I believe.  I believe the untainted truth of the Bible.

(Ephesians 6:10-23) 10—Finally, my brethren, be strong in YHVH, and in the power of his might. 11—Put on the whole armor of YHVH, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12—For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spirit wickedness in high [places].

13—Wherefore take to you the whole armor of YHVH, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14—Stand therefore, having your loins girded with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; (Isaiah 11:5) 15—and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16—above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith you shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17—And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of Yah’s Spirit, which is the word of YHVH: (Isaiah 59:17) 18—praying always with all prayer and supplication in Yah’s Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; 19—and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, 20—for which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak. . . . 23—Peace [be] to the brethren, and (agape) love with faith, from YHVH the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ., 24—and grace [be] with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen.

The Full Armor of YHVH

  • Belt of truth
  • Breastplate of righteousness
  • Feet fitted with readiness from the gospel of peace
  • Shield of faith
  • Helmet of salvation
  • Sword of (YaHavah’s) Spirit—Word of YHVH
  • Pray always for the saints

This is the same thing I have been writing about for thirty-nine years. Yet, I am told I need to dumb my writing down so people can understand it, or, as the person in Texas stated, “Surely you know that your doctrines are unusual to say the least. I know of no group of Christians, not one, that embrace your understanding of Christianity”

In the Bible, Christ means anointedChristian means one who is anointed in the Spirit of YaHavah. Most dictionaries give follower of Christ as the primary meaning. None that I have seen give the definition of Christian as one who is anointed.  The anointing is the same as being born again.  To be anointed is to receive the approval of YaHavah.  He isn’t going to anoint someone who is taught lies about his truth.

I guess that does make me different, but a difference I can live with and look at myself in the mirror knowing I test everything by the Bible and Spirit of YaHavah.

I strive to write about Bible truth in as simple a manner as I can. I know many will not understand it because that is what the Bible says, too. I think the reason people might have a problem understanding what I write comes down to a lack of interest in the topics.  My topics are Bible truths that are not being taught in the Churches.   If a topic is not in the trend of the worldview of Christianity, then it is of no interest.  I believe the only solution is for more to listen to the personal urging of the Spirit to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior and to seek the true anointing in the Spirit.  My article on “What is Christianity” may be some help.

I need the help of my readers. Tell me if there is something you do not understand or a critique you might want to make.  Writers want to be heard and understood; so does YaHavah and Jesus.

The Bible Has a Calendar

The following is an excerpt from my latest book, “The 2,466 Year-Old Calendar Nobody Could See.”….

“The Bible really does have a calendar lost in plain sight.  Daniel’s prophecy of seventy sevens of years laid out its structure, but it was never seen as a full calendar.  Theologians have only seen the timing from its beginning to the birth and death of Jesus.  They are waiting for the last seven years of the prophecy, without seeing the calendar as continuous to that time and beyond to the end.  There is no gap in the calendar of seventy sevens of years.

This calendar is in the Bible, so everything that leads to understanding it is also, in the Bible.  If persons are against examining the Bible to find the purpose of this calendar, then this is not the book for them.

Frankly, I always thought it boring to study Old Testament chronologies.  I discovered the importance of them when I decided to do this book to determine the correct beginning date for Daniel’s seventy-sevens timing.  It was a real challenge and eye-opener, and well worth it.  I refer to this booklet often in my personal Bible studies to clarify other things in the Bible.  I believe it is a necessary handbook for serious Bible and historical studies.

This is what the long lost and fleshed-out calendar looks like:

It will be fully explained throughout this booklet, during which time, the Bible will expose the doctrines that have impeded full knowledge of it.  Hopefully, the error of those doctrines will become evident to those who know of, or practice them. “

slide1This is the book.  Click my Amazon author page link on the menu above.
All books shown on my author page are available in digital eBook and paperback.

The most reliable end time timeline available looks very different from the popular (and complicated) timelines developed by pre-tribulationists, mid-tribulationists, and post-tribulationists.  I have copies of all their charts, and believe me, they are confusing.  These three place the return of Jesus at different times during the last seven years of Daniel’s prophecy, but they all have one thing in common; they all interpret the seven seals (on the scroll with seven seals) as the last seven years.  What they don’t see is the imagery clues explaining that all seven seals are not unique to the last seven years.   The first four (the horsemen) are about choosing between Jesus or captivity for not believing and teaching the truth about the first and second coming of Jesus Christ; the fifth is the reward for choosing Jesus, making the timing for the first five seals past, present, and future.  Only seal seven describes the last seven years.  Seal six is specific to YaHavah’s promise of a second redemption for the twelve tribes of Israel; the first was from Egypt; the timing is at the sound of the seventh trumpet of seal seven.  These things are explained biblically in my books about them.  Only you can decide what you want to believe.  To do that, one must understand the options.

I invite you to examine my Word of YHVH Bible: Glossary of Bible Terms to see the Bible’s explanation of popular words and phrases used and queried by Christians today.

Let’s talk about this, after all, trusting the truth of the Bible is a matter of eternal life and death for teacher and follower.  The only fear anyone should have is the fear of YaHavah, which translates to full respect and love for him and his truth.  Even YaHavah invites dialog:

18Come now and let us reason together, said YHVH: though your sins are as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.  19If you be willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land: 20but if you refuse and rebel, you shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of YHVH has spoken [it].  (Isaiah 1:18-20)
